Final Touches

Since we refinish all vehicles disassembled of trim and bumpers, after the polishing stage the vehicle is returned to the body department for assembly.  Providing all the necessary assembly is completed, the vehicle is then moved to the mechanical department for necessary servicing of any mechanical needs from air conditioning, air bag device installation and testing to electrical systems checking, to full suspension service and four wheel alignment.   Tire balancing, rotation and radiant tire exchange is also completed if applicable.

After all of your vehicle's repairs are completed, most vehicles are hand detailed inside and out, including washing, machine polishing, pin striping, undercoating, vacuuming and conditioning the vinyl and leather pieces (when applicable).

Throughout the process, we keep in contact with you and your insurance company so that everyone is aware of the process and the progress.   Small repairs (under $1500.00) are completed on a day-to-day schedule.  We may project completion in "x" number of days, and barring any unforeseen problems or additional repair requests, we generally keep on schedule.

The larger, more involved repairs usually take one week for each $2000.00 of damage.  This accounts for part ordering, insurance, inspections, reinspections and work scheduling and department facilitating.  From our tracking of repair projects in general, we find -- and our industry reports agree -- the larger, more involved repairs hold the most delays.  As repair projects approach the $10,000.00 range, the time to complete will average one week for each $1500.00 in damage.   European and Asian vehicles are sometimes affected by poor support of the parts divisions.  Historically, Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen are the most difficult to obtain needed parts; Subaru and Volvo next.  The more exotic, expensive and unique the vehicle or part is, the more difficult to obtain.  We are currently producing a cassette tape to explain in detail the process; you may request this copyrighted item from our office staff.
