| 1970 GTO starts its road to being completely restored. Body is disassembled and lifted from frame. All brake and fuel delivery lines, as well as bushings and body mount kit will be replaced. The body and frame will be sent to media blasting shop for complete paint and surface rust removal. Remember, this is a California car and rust is minimal. Some water damage to rear area and in window well. |

| GTO is media blasted in and out on the rotisserie; what little body work that is needed is completed and the car is coated with a polyester primer, and blocked to level all panels. This California car is a joy to work on. Since the car will be black, the panels are carefully blocked and inspected. |

| Let the painting begin!!!! All sections of the car are painted. We utilize both of our downdraft Spraybooths to accomplish this. The body is rolled in on the rotisserie. Actual scenes of the booth and painting are shown. Once baked, all the parts will be allowed to cool before wet sanding and polishing. Next step will be applying the new black vinyl top from Legendary Interiors. The interior will be completely replaced as well as all padding and sound pads. The frame is being blasted and prepped for painting while a brand new 455 is being built! Stay tuned!! |

| Frame is sandblasted and painted in Chassis-Saver type specialty paint in satin black. The radiator support, wheelhouses and support brackets, hinges and mounts have been rebuilt, blasted and painted in the same product. |

| The vinyl top has been installed. New engine and new rear 12 bolt posi-rear end will be here next week. The fuel, brake and ECS supply lines are installed on the frame. |

| The seats have been stripped and the frames repaired. New engine and new rear 12 bolt posi-rear end will be here next week. The fuel, brake and ECS supply lines are installed on the frame. |
| |
| It's important to notice the broken spot welds and broken springs in the seat frames. If they are not repaired they can leave the seats weak, or springs will poke through the new seat covers. These seat frames were sand blasted and painted with a chromate paint. |

| The new 455 has arrived on schedule. The new posi-traction 12-bolt is installed, and trim work on the roof continues. |
| |
| The trunk floor gets a coat of the correct style and color spatter paint, and looks like the original. |

| Headliner, then windows next. |

| The engine is being painted and assembled. Frame is nearing completion; as components arrive, each is installed. Installing the engine and transmission onto the frame is complete. Installing the engine and drive-line will make the exhaust system easier to fit and install with the body off; nothing worse than having to work upside-down under a car on these tasks. Now is the time! We decided on a 2-Four, 450 CFM pump carb. set up. That will give the car amazing guts. The 370 Posi-Gears and a 2500RPM stall type torque-converter will allow the car to be powerful at low speeds and comfortable on the highway. At $3.45 a Gallon we thought gas mileage could be minimized considering the 455 500+ HP engine, however with the 2-Four set up the car will run on 2 barrels most of the time and the progressive linkage will open the full 900CFM as demand for power is requested. Considering the roar of this one, I don't see anyone being able to avoid the adrenaline rush! |

| Body is re-mounted on frame, continuing assembly. Headliner, windows next. |

| The engine is running and all systems are smooth. We changed a few items as listed previously which does happen due to recommendations and advice. The Carbs are now 600CFMs as the 450's did not supply enough fuel individually and the engine ran hot. Also the rear end was first changed from the original 10 bolt to a 12, but due to a sizing problem 9 in. custom-built rear with 370 posi was installed. The torque of the engine was too much. The engine is really producing close to 600+ Hp. |

| The brake work is continuing as is interior installation. Should anyone wonder how much time is needed to complete a project like this, understand that research and locating a particular part can take weeks. Just one part can hold up the whole project as the order of assembly is stalled. In order to assemble the dash the speedometer and dash vents need to be located. New parts are not available so rebuilding and searching continues. While some parts are just a click away others can stop us dead in our tracks. This car has over 400 hours of labor invested so far. That's about 4 days of TV time with 10 workers non-stop. Its estimated that those TV overhauled cars bill out at between $75-100,000.00. |

| Interior work on the GTO is continuing, trim parts may be the biggest hold up. Some items are just not made or available. Our search continues for various dash items where the originals are not usable. Some NOS parts have been found. The console is installed and all new wiring complete. An accessory plug has been added for plug in DVD or power supply to the rear seats. A customized lamp in the console glove box for finding stored items. Door glasses and weather strips are complete and fitted. Door trim panels are next. |

| The carpeting is installed. A rear window glass is holding up the progress. We are waiting for the rear glass to arrive from PPG Vintage Glass. Meanwhile interior trim, rear defogger assembly, and package trays need to be installed. Next, seats and door panels. We try to leave these until last to avoid damage from other events. Outside, even the radiator support is finished to look like original. Detailing the engine compartment continues as assembly advances. |

| The rear bumper is a bust. We bought a "perfect" one online, however the tail light on the right side will not fit. We sent out the other bumper to be repaired and rechromed, and it is painted inside to prevent rusting and then prepped for installation. We will now have to have the other bumper sent out and reworked in order to resell it. Until some of the parts are fitted, there is no way to prove quality. Beware....its not as easy as it looks!!! |

| Restoration of this GTO is complete. The car was at the Syracuse Nationals and received a lot of attention. The Frame-off restoration has spanned 10 months. The original automatic transmission has been changed to a Tremec TKO-600 Five-speed transmission which allows the car to run at 80 MPH and keeps engine RPM at 22-2300. |
